Despite the rain, we had 48 people that showed up for the lesson. We had 2 inductions before that.
Richard challenged them with the talk titled, “The Ultimate Purpose of Leadership”. Incidentally, this is the last lesson of the Millions Leaders Mandate curriculum, Notebook 6. It was a challenging, thought-provoking message for the Penangnites, making them aware of the end from the beginning.
We had a mature Christian crowd that corrected us on the fact that in the 1700’s when Penang existed, there was no Kuala Lumpur.
It was an interesting introduction elicit with different responses from the crowd. It was an exciting beginning for us as we journey down this lane with the Penang folks. What comes later was a testimony of God’s hand and protection for me.
I was a victim of a failed snatch thief attempt to get my handbag off, at Macalister Road. Despite the fall on the road on my head, the doctor confirmed that everything was normal with the CT scan done in Lam Wah Ee Hospital.
Through the incidence I was connected with friends that I have not seen for 27 years. It was a great reunion despite of the fact that it was done around the emergency ward bed. I was reminded of this verse. Deuteronomy 33:27,
“ The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms. ”

I had the privilege to witness the wonderful gathering of His people for the launch of EFC Leadership training at Trinity Methodist Church in the historic island of Penang. With the end set in view ‘ultimate purpose…’ and in particular reference to Christians’ role in Malaysia, the connection with the gathering was electric. The desire of the leaders in the kingdom to be an instrument of change in this window of opportunity was palpable. Much struck by the energy and youthfulness of the leaders and their on going working relationship amongst the different congregations.
The work at Rifle range is indeed a light upon the city and a testament to the transforming power of the Spirit imbued within the Christian community in Penang.
I was greatly blessed by the occasion and the fellowship therein; the warmth and generosity of the people was exemplary.

Thank you Piek See and Richard for your labour of love. We value your presence and teaching and will cover you with prayer.
Last night, Piek See highlighted an important quality of a servant leader - one who is prepared to suffer pain and "walk with a limp". It reminds me of Moses who went up to the mountain a second time fasting for another 40days after the Israelites slipped into idolatry. After this process, he showed mercy and compassion. We tend to shy away from serving because of the pain from the very people whom we serve.
As for the snatch theft incident in Penang, let us pray for this social ill and the other one which you mentioned about a school in Johor. There is much we can do to mentor the young and the school is a good place to start.

I was praying while Piek See was teaching Lesson 1 and was reminded by the Lord on 'faithfullness and discipline.'
As we begin to discipline ourselves in this journey of faith I truly believe transformation OF LIVES will take place.

Please call your friends to come join us in this journey.
God's timing is always perfect.
