[Blog] Job and Noah

Job and Noah
by Sister Har Yin, Teh from Kulim, Kedah

What is the difference between Job’s and Noah’s situation Do you think the two of them would be able to get along if they were in the same team?

The speaker, Br. Geoff, at our EFCLT-Penang class challenged us to ponder on these questions.

Job was going through a lot of personal pain, but had no clue why he had to go through all those suffering.  God was silent to him even when he lost his direction.  On the other hand, God gave Noah a project with a clear objective and precise instructions.  Noah was filled with purpose, energetically working in God’s service.

Should Noah look down on his team mate, Job, for his lack of enthusiasm ?

Oh how we need to be sensitive to those around us, especially when God has given us clear instructions for an exciting project.  There may be team mates who are struggling with the Job-stage of their lives.

How to Write Your Personal Vision Plan

According to Proverb 16:3, the author believes the key to having a rewarding and productive life is developing a specific plan to fulfill our personal life vision. Therefore, he introduces us the 7 steps to write our personal vision plan. Then, he will guide us with actions, so that we can bring our vision becomes reality.

Leadership Launch - 31 March 2009

I had the privilege to witness the wonderful gathering of His people for the launch of EFC Leadership training at Trinity Methodist Church in the historic island of Penang. With the end set in view ‘ultimate purpose…’ and in particular reference to Christians’ role in Malaysia, the connection with the gathering was electric. The desire of the leaders in the kingdom to be an instrument of change in this window of opportunity was palpable. Much struck by the energy and youthfulness of the leaders and their on going working relationship amongst the different congregations.

The work at Rifle range is indeed a light upon the city and a testament to the transforming power of the Spirit imbued within the Christian community in Penang.

I was greatly blessed by the occasion and the fellowship therein;
the warmth and generosity of the people was exemplary.

Pray: Conference & Leadership Summit

Compiled by Inn Neo, Prayer Champion of Movers & Shakers
It has been a while since we had a good prayer in the group. I always believe that the Holy Spirit should be the centre of our prayers and provide good communication with "Abba". After our last DLT meeting we now have a focus for our prayer life. The following prayer points were raised and by FAITH we believe that it is already DONE.

WE Pray:

1. That the hearts of the Leaders, that are coming, will be soft and open to the Lord's Word and the Power of the Holy Spirit.
2. That the attendees will hear & receive the will and vision of God for the transformation of the nation.
3. That all who attend will be empowered by the Holy Spirit and that they will move in boldness and courage to carry out the mission given to them by the Lord.
4. That the people will receive the impartation from the speakers.

The People; We decided to use an acronym, H.H.H :

1. Healing of the people’s emotion – forgiveness, submission, surrender to Jesus.
  a. State of the heart to be open and ready
  b. Remove all that is obstructing our ability to receive the Word of God

2. Hope for the future

3. Health for the nation

The Speakers
1. That they experience journey mercies

2. That they have no immigration issues and are blessed with exceptional favour when coming through the gateways into Malaysia.

3. That they arrive fully empowered by the Holy Spirit of God

4. That they are ready to impart the anointing of God to the people of Malaysia

5. That the Message be filled with the Holy Spirit

6. That they experience good health through out

7. That their families are protected back home

Organizing Team
1. All team members are ready to serve.
2. That they come with a positive attitude to lead, serve and support.
3. That they come with an accepting and reconciling heart.
4. Flexibilities among team members.
5. Grace & forgiveness to cover all offences.
6. Journey mercies in all travels. Protection for the family members.
7. Pray for Goshen protection for all.
8. Smooth working relationship with all partners. That the relationship will grow from strength to strength after the event as well.

Weather – Fine weather
Finance – All provision from our Lord to be flowing smoothly with no obstructions.

Logistics
1. All equipment to be in good working order
2. All transportation and road conditions to be in good order

Finally Penang

After 3 years, we saw our dream of starting our EFC Leadership training in Penang realized. It was a wet 25th March 2009 at Trinity Methodist Church that we started the first lesson of the next 3 years commitment.

Despite the rain, we had 48 people that showed up for the lesson. We had 2 inductions before that.

Richard challenged them with the talk titled, “The Ultimate Purpose of Leadership”. Incidentally, this is the last lesson of the Millions Leaders Mandate curriculum, Notebook 6. It was a challenging, thought-provoking message for the Penangnites, making them aware of the end from the beginning.

We had a mature Christian crowd that corrected us on the fact that in the 1700’s when Penang existed, there was no Kuala Lumpur.
It was an interesting introduction elicit with different responses from the crowd. It was an exciting beginning for us as we journey down this lane with the Penang folks. What comes later was a testimony of God’s hand and protection for me.

I was a victim of a failed snatch thief attempt to get my handbag off, at Macalister Road. Despite the fall on the road on my head, the doctor confirmed that everything was normal with the CT scan done in Lam Wah Ee Hospital.

Through the incidence I was connected with friends that I have not seen for 27 years. It was a great reunion despite of the fact that it was done around the emergency ward bed. I was reminded of this verse. Deuteronomy 33:27,

“ The eternal God is your refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms. ”

What a great reminder that God shelters us all the day long and the beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him.
